RECINTO DE MAYAGÜEZ 134 ERP implementations based on enterprise architecture This research investigates implementations of ERP systems based on the Enterprise Architecture. The thesis discusses the theoretical relation between Enterprise Architecture and ERP, based on the distinction between operational effectiveness and strategy. A non-experimental survey was distributed through a varied sample with people who have worked with ERP systems from an end user and implementation standpoint. The results were used to identify crucial factors that are important when implementing an ERP system. The results determined that, a clear scope, management support, strong team members and internal preparation are critical to an ERP implementation.
