27 CATÁLOGO DE INVESTIGACIONES | AÑO ACADÉMICO 2013 -2014 Factores económicos, administrativos y sociales que influyen en el desarrollo de las Plazas del Mercado de Ponce y Mayagüez del año 2014 The purpose of the research is to design a strategic plan that can be used as a model in the “Plaza del Mercado” of Mayagüez and Ponce to make them more efficient. It seeks to provide information to the reader about the causes of the economic decline of the “Plaza del Mercado” of Ponce. This research seeks to provide a different view about this type of business that identifies our culture. This research contains information related to the importance of the general economy, the variety of products and services, composition of the “placeros”, consumer behavior, the location, the external environment, competition, schedule , security and subsidies. The research design is exploratory-descriptive. The sample involved in the study consisted of 105 people of which 40 were part of the “Plaza del Mercado” of Ponce and 65 of the “Plaza del Mercado” of Mayagüez.
