CATÁLOGO DE INVESTIGACIONES | AÑO ACADÉMICO 2014-2015 27 A Profile of the Top Executive Financial Decision Makers’ Ethical Behavior and the 2006-2010 financial crisis: A case study The research presents a collection of secondary data about the executive management of the different key players in financial crisis of 2006-2010. The data gathered was limited to the specific active years of the crisis from 2006-2010. In the financial crisis of 2006-2010, there were a few firms that rose above others in their impact on the United States economy. Some were bought by others firms, others went bankrupt, and surprisingly the rest survived. A selection of a few key players in the financial crisis of 2006-2010 for example, Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, AIG, Countrywide, and Goldman Sachs was done to create them into case studies to be used as a base for the profile that is the ultimate goal of the dissertation. The profile of the financial decision-makers in the financial crisis in the United States dating from the years of 2006- 2010 is composed of powerful Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and Chief Operating Officers that behaved in an extremely risky way, leading them to believe that the decisions made were flawless. From their perspective, these officers were doing nothing wrong in their decisions. They did what everyone in Wall Street was doing, which is risking everything you have to make double or triple profit compared to the initial investment.
